As a Senior DevOps Engineer, your challenges will include:
- Own Honeytech’s infrastructure roadmap, including AWS/EKS/Kubernetes, monitoring, alerting, access management, cost optimization, and operational reliability.
- Build observability systems that answer business-critical questions, not just technical metrics.
- Improve Kubernetes efficiency through autoscaling (HPA/custom metrics), pod startup optimization, node pool strategy, and resource requests/limits management.
- Own the end-to-end incident management process: detection, response, communication, postmortems, and preventive actions.
- Maintain infrastructure code and deployment processes, including Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD/GitOps, environment separation, and reliable rollback strategies.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives without compromising reliability by identifying inefficiencies, improving resource utilization, and leveraging spot instances where appropriate.
- Enable a self-service DevOps culture for development teams.
We are looking for a specialist who:
- Is a Senior-level engineer with hands-on production experience.
- Has strong expertise in Kubernetes (required).
- Has proven experience with Terraform (required).
- Has solid production experience with AWS, including EKS, IAM, and VPC.
- Has hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines and implementing GitOps practices.
- Has strong knowledge of observability tools and practices, including Grafana, Prometheus, logging, tracing, and alerting.
- Has experience managing incidents, conducting root cause analysis, creating postmortems, and maintaining runbooks.
- Understands performance and reliability engineering, including load testing, capacity planning, bottleneck analysis, and SLO/SLI management.
- Has strong knowledge of security principles and access control.
- Has experience in infrastructure cost engineering and optimization.
- Has hands-on experience managing stateful production systems, including PostgreSQL/MySQL-compatible databases, Redis, and messaging platforms.
- Has experience working with Kafka.
- Is able to build data-level observability for databases, Kafka, and Redis, beyond pod and node monitoring.
- Nice to have:
- Experience with high-traffic consumer products, payment or content platforms, media services, CDNs, and Cloudflare.
- Experience coordinating external vendors or DevOps contractors while retaining technical ownership within the internal team.
- Experience working with PHP-based applications.
