Commercial & IP Legal Lead | Head Office
Our legal team is looking for a Commercial & IP Lead — a lawyer who gets genuinely irritated when a contract takes a week to get signed. Most lawyers read contracts. You will redesign how contracts happen. Our ambition is simple to say and hard to do: a typical agreement signed within about an hour, with the overwhelming majority of the flow running automatically — templates, playbooks, CLM, e-signature, AI — and lawyers touching only the deals that truly deserve a lawyer. You'll lead the Commercial & IP pillar of the legal department, own the contract lifecycle end-to-end across dozens of business teams, and turn "waiting for legal" from an office meme into ancient history.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Lead the Commercial & IP pillar of the legal department and manage its team.
- Own the full contract lifecycle for the group: intake, triage, drafting, negotiation, execution, storage.
- Standardize the contract base: templates, playbooks, and self-service routes for low-risk agreements.
- Drive contract-process automation as a flagship project — target state: a typical contract signed within about an hour, with the large majority of volume routed fully automatically and only the most significant agreements handled manually.
- Define and hold SLAs for contract turnaround; report throughput and bottlenecks.
- Manage IP portfolio matters: trademarks, domains, licensing and assignment chains.
- Coordinate handoffs with the Regulatory & Compliance and Corporate & Transactions pillars; escalate material risks to the Head of Legal.
- Act as the legal-side owner in cross-functional automation work with the AI/development team.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation in English: B2B service, SaaS/subscription, marketing and affiliate, vendor/procurement, licensing, and IP-related agreements.
- Ability to design and maintain contract templates, clause libraries, and negotiation playbooks (standard positions + fallbacks + escalation triggers).
- Contract process design end-to-end: intake → triage → drafting → approval → signature → storage, with clear SLAs and delegation rules (what needs a lawyer vs. what runs on self-service).
- Hands-on experience with CLM and e-signature tools (selection, implementation, or administration) and ticket-based intake (e.g., Jira).
- Practical use of AI tools for contract review and drafting; ability to define requirements for automating legal workflows together with a development team.
- Working knowledge of IP in commercial context: assignments, licensing, trademarks, domains.
- Understanding of data-protection touchpoints in commercial contracts (DPAs, cross-border transfer mechanics) sufficient to coordinate with the compliance team.
